HealthPlus HMO/POS Expands Into Macomb County

Service Area MapHealthPlus of Michigan is pleased to announce it has received approval from the Office of Financial and Insurance Services (OFIS) for expansion of its HMO/POS service area into all of Macomb County. The addition of Macomb County extends the HealthPlus service area to all or part of 18 counties in Southeast and mid-Michigan.

HealthPlus has signed agreements with Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals in Clinton Township, Mt. Clemens and Warren. These hospitals were formerly known as St. Joseph Health Care and Henry Ford Bi-County, respectively.

Henry Ford Health System is one of the nation's leading comprehensive, integrated health systems. It provides acute, specialty, primary and preventive care services backed by excellence in research and education.

HealthPlus also contracts with Beaumont Hospital – Troy & Royal Oak and Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, commonly utilized by residents of Macomb County. HealthPlus currently has 75 Primary Care Physicians and almost 200 specialists in the Macomb County HMO, with further physician recruitment underway.

HealthPlus will continue to utilize Cofinity/PPOM for its PPO program in Macomb County. Through the Cofinity/PPOM network, we are able to offer coverage statewide.
